Another is a good horror anime with mystery and suspense. Each episode leave the viewer wanting more. The first 3 episodes don't have much action but, they have a lot of vital information that will appear in later episodes and surprise you. After the first 3 episodes, things start getting tense. When I watched it, I thought it would be a very predictable sequence but in fact by episode 4, all my predictions were incorrect. (I thought it was a ghost story but it was nothing of that sort) Nothing is as it seems and the creator did a great job in making us feel that way. It is chilling to watch during the night and it made me feel restless due to the fact deaths are occurring and we don't know why. There are lots of dark moods throughout the story and the ending is satisfying and very unsuspecting.

There is blood and the deaths are a bit gruesome but, it is not gore. The major theme is death and how futile each character is trying to escape this very thing. Though most characters in the anime are middle school children, the actions they take and things they say are quite adult-like in my opinion. I highly suggest that you don't abandon the series after a few minutes of episode one. You are missing out on a good series.
