As an adaptation of a superhuman battle action visual novel game(try saying that five times fast :p) I was expecting this anime to be somewhat formulaic, and to some extent it is(after all, those things comes with the genre), but they manage to have enough variation to keep it from being boring or repetitive. The animation is great, the show is fast paced but still manages to balance both action and emotional scenes. After all, they are literally fighting their inner demons as they try to corrupt their minds from the inside out. Since the anime is based on a visual novel game the story is much more expansive than most game anime adaptations, but I still think that core concept of an inner struggle could have been explored better if they had had a full 26 episode season. The supporting cast also sort of suffers from this, not being fully fleshed out, but for what it is, it still is pretty good. The last half of the final episode also felt a tiny bit rushed, but all in all it was an exciting and entertaining show.
