Summary:
Ganta Igarashi has been convicted of a crime that he hasn't committed, and sent to a new, privately owned and operated prison, where the inmates are the main attraction in a modern day twist to the gladiatorial coliseums of ancient times. Throw in a healthy dose of weird little girl, some new-found super powers, and a little conspiracy theory, and you have Deadman Wonderland.
Deadman wonderland is amazing, the story is very brutal and the main character (Igarashi Ganta) is screwed over from the get-go. Death, tragedy, sorrow, hunger, hot girls, this anime has it all! Ganta gets a messed up life pretty much after the first five minutes and nearly everyone is against him. The characters are all in it for themselves and only certain friends help the main character cope. If your looking for a sadder less happy-go-lucky kind of anime you have found exactly that with one exception a happy-go-lucky character that is Ganta's best friend, who is the soul of the comedy in the show. This show is violent expect to see blood, alot of blood, it isn't excessive but there is alot. Deadman wonderland is unique that it combines an original story with some incredibly bizarre supernatural abilities and personalities. The plot is cruel and the world Ganta lives in is Twisted, but hey! At least there is an amusement park.
