Death Note was one of my first anime, and it will always be one of my favorites. The story keeps you guessing and makes you want to know what happens next. Although there are some moments that are quite random, the story stays on track and doesn't veer, no matter what. The dialogue was amazing, but it was a bit repetitive. Other than that, it was was great. Because of the lack of action scenes - which wasn't exactly a bad thing, especially for this anime - the animation was focused on, very particular, and even dramatic in some cases (potato chip; you'll see what I mean!). I have always loved this anime, always been entertained by it, no matter how many times I watch it. Every time, I'm always shocked by something.
Death Note is a great anime for fans of Elfen Lied or even Soul Eater. It is also a great first anime for suspense-lovers and drama fans. And the horror it gives is amazing. Sometimes, you may even jump back a little because of the thrill ride you get from it.
Although, if you scare easy, I wouldn't suggest watching this show during a thunderstorms. ;) Anyways, Death Note is a great anime and manga, one that will surely please everyone who watches it.

If you can imagine Yuri on Ice! meets Holmes of Kyoto, then this is it. Slow paced but gripping. Boy-Love but not distasteful...
