Yagami Light is an ace student with great prospects, who's bored out of his mind. Out of all the animes i've watched, Death Note is at the top when it comes to story. It has an intricate storyline, twists and all, all the characters do things that are well thought out and brilliant.
However, while the storyline is top notch, things like animation quality which i rated as average and entertainment has good kind of let down the title, I thoroughly enjoyed the manga much more. I gave entertainment a "good" rating because although the story was extremely interesting, dialogue just overran the whole anime and sometimes the anime moved rather slowly.
All in all, this anime was excellent, I'd recommend it to anyone who is tired of all the generic shonen titles and wants to try something new :)
