An American kid named Joey lives in an urban city & has always wanted to become a hero. Unfortunately he's just an orphan working part time to support his grandma and himself. After he watched a toy commercial on a new robot action figure, Joey believe he'll gain strength if he obtains one. The only robot toy he can get his hands on is a broken one that was abandon by a rich school bully. Feeling pity for the trashed action figure, Joey took it home to repair it. Little did he know, that once he repairs the toy, it'll make his hero dream become a reality. |

Now, I don't like giant robot animes. If you like giant robot animes, don't watch this. This isn't a giant robot anime. There may be a giant robot in it, but it is not a giant robot anime.
I love the animation of this anime. It is one of the best I've seen, and I've seen quite a few.
Now, when considering the plot, you have to take into consideration who created this anime: Stan Lee. Stan Lee is the godfather (in my opinion) of all Marvel comic books. Spider man, Iron man, the works. This is an excellent anime for anyone that is into his comic books. It even has his usual cameo in the anime.
I love the characters in this anime. Truly amazing. It is corny, with the usual high-school-boy, but who doesn't love that? They may have gone a little too far with Psy's hair, but that just makes him all that more loveable.
Okay...the final battle between Heroman and the big bad bug could have been a bit longer...but it's not the end, and I don't expect it to be.

If you can imagine Yuri on Ice! meets Holmes of Kyoto, then this is it. Slow paced but gripping. Boy-Love but not distasteful...
