Better than the first season :)

Second seasons tend to either fail the expectations set by the first or take entertainment to a wholly other level. Kingdom (TV 2) definitely belongs to the latter group, and the last season already wasn't bad towards its end.
The plot right now is only beginning to knot up. Kingdom (TV 2) focuses even more on background happenings than the first season did. History isn't my strong point, however the tale of intrigues, strategies, and political conflicts is actually interesting, and it's nice to see a background story to one of the main characters. The characters are still developing (beyond the usual action anime trope 'power up, beat next foe', too), and one of the main characters actually just got more interesting with the unveiling of his background story. Dialogue is still quite good, has its odd-one-out moments but overall conveys both dramatic and funny moments well. The animation got definitely improved from the beginning of the first season, the music's still the same old likable, and the art is quite funny in a way that the character design seems to be maturing with the characters; I don't really know how to describe it but if you look at Xin at the beginning of the first season and Xin now... it's a difference, except in costume xD.
I can't really say much more right now since this season is only starting off, however I'm curious to see where it's going. Definitely above the sheer mere 'good' mark, and among the more entertaining series this season.
9/10 from me, though I don't think it'll make the top of my list, I like it.
