* Based on Minami Kanan's Kyou, Koi o Hajimemasu shoujo romance manga.
Tsubaki is a girl who loves making her younger sister's hair pretty every morning, but she doesn't think that kind of style suits herself! The day of her High School Beginning Ceremony, after she failed in being the top student (who usually makes the ceremony speech), she finds herself sitting next to the actual top student of the first years, the worst rude guy ever, Kyouta. She ends up cutting his hair on purpose because of the bad things he says to her. Kyouta demands that Tsubaki pay him back with her body, but Tsubaki fixes his hair instead--making it even shorter! After that, Kyouta unexpectedly kisses Tsubaki and swears that he'll make her his woman. |

Not good for newcomers

This OVA is not even close to telling the story of Kyou, Koi o Hajimemasu. Newcomers are bascially thrown into the story with no knowledge of how it all began, and that's a kinda turn-off for me. The OVA could have been decent, if it was done better on this part, but I guess they couldn't make a lot from the budget they had on this. So a good idea would definitely be, read the first 15 or so chapters of the manga, then come back and watch the anime. It sure helps a lot.
That being said, this OVA has some pluses as it has some of my favorite voice actors in it, but that's about the only thing that pulls the score up. Oh, and the colors are not THAT bad either.
I would say it's a tolerable OVA, not the best, but I have definitely seen worse.
