Mobile Suit Gunda 00 is the 2nd mech anime after Evangelion that I decided to watch and I have never regretted this decision.
This show has a story that you can appreciate even if you're not a fan of mech anime, because there is something so very real so very heartbreaking and so tragic about this show, that you just can't let it slide.
Each character has their own tragic past and fights for their own goal and the world has been thrown into a terrible state.
Don't watch this show for laughs and entertainment.
Watch it for a real story. Real emotions and real people.
Whilst it takes a few episodes to get into, after the first 4 episodes, you will be hooked.
One thing for sure, after watching this, I know I've appreciated the fact that anyone who lives in peace should be grateful. Because it gives you a harrowing look at a life of being thrown under the circumstances of war.
Intelligent, heart wrenching and a must watch, even if you just chose to see it the once.
It leaves you thinking about it for a long while after

If you can imagine Yuri on Ice! meets Holmes of Kyoto, then this is it. Slow paced but gripping. Boy-Love but not distasteful...
