Naruto closely follows the life of a boy who is feared and detested by the villagers of the hidden leaf village of Konoha. The distrust of the boy has little to do with the boy himself, but itโs whatโs inside him that causes anxiety. Long before Naruto came to be, a Kyuubi (demon fox) with great fury and power waged war taking many lives. The battle ensued for a long time until a man known as the Fourth Hokage, Yondaime, the strongest ninja in Konoha, fiercely fought the Kyuubi. The fight was soon won by Yondaime as he sealed the evil demon in a human body. Thus the boy, Naruto, was born. As Naruto grows he decides to become the strongest ninja in Konoha in an effort to show everyone that he is not as they perceive him to be, but is a human being worthy of love and admiration. But the road to becoming Hokage, the title for the strongest ninja in Konoha, is a long and arduous one. It is a path filled with betrayal, pain, and loss; but with hard work, Naruto may achieve Hokage. |

Naruto is an excellent anime. To me it has a classic and nostalgic feel as it was one of the series that really made me an anime enthusiast. It has its own unique charm, and most people that I have met are quite passionate about it whether in loving it or hating it.
The plot is entertaining, the music pumps you up (or makes you sad in emotional scenes), the setting is one of those "I wish I were there" kind. but most importantly, the characters are all lovable and well-developed, they all go through some kind of development through the course of the series. Some "smart" fans may deny all this but this is more because they like to discredit popular anime simply because they are popular and likely haven't even watched it for the same reason (off topic: that's pretty pathetic btw)
The animation quality can vary greatly. The important episodes are very well animated but some filler episodes can be crappily animated. But that is to be expected since this is a 200+ episode anime.
And oh yeah: watch out for the 80+ episode fillers. To help you: AFTER episode 135 skip to the second half of episode 220. THERE! Now you will not have to suffer at all.
