| Summary: |
Naruto Shippuuden is the continuation of the original animated TV series Naruto. The story revolves around an older and slightly more matured Uzumaki Naruto and his quest to save his friend Uchiha Sasuke from the grips of the snake-like Shinobi, Orochimaru. After 2 and a half years Naruto finally returns to his village of Konoha, and sets about putting his ambitions to work, though it will not be easy, as He has amassed a few (more dangerous) enemies, in the likes of the shinobi organization; Akatsuki. |

This is my favorite anime so far.
The story continues that of the original Naruto, but takes a different turn. The series I feel has gotten a bit darker and almost a bit more mature. The fights and action has improved dramatically from the first series. Fillers are present, however, they seem to come around a lot less than say, in Bleach, although they are still just as bad. The story has also become a lot more emotional which adds a lot of depth to the story and the anime in general. There is still a lot of comedy present in this series just like in the first.
The characters are awesome. It's really hard to hate or dislike any of them. Even if you do find someone you don't like chances are things will happen that will make you think otherwise. You really get to see changes in characters as well, not only after the three year period between the two series, but also during the progression of the series. Villains in Shippuuden are some of the best I've seen so far. They are also varied and all have different personalities, styles, goals, and motives. Sometimes I find myself disappointed that when/if one of them gets killed off just because they can be so entertaining.
In the end, this anime is excellent. The story, setting, characters are all fantastic. NINJAS FTW!

If you can imagine Yuri on Ice! meets Holmes of Kyoto, then this is it. Slow paced but gripping. Boy-Love but not distasteful...
