Tenchi creators funniest anime

Photon is one of those little gems you come across now and then that make you wish there was more of it. At only 6 episodes, this is from the creators of Tenchi Muyo, but is far more off-the-wall than that show and will really appeal to fans of more surreal comedy anime. Although it's sexier than Tenchi, it also has a vein of sweetness running through it that makes you care about Photon and compact cast of characters that surround him; and the series baddie is hilarious. Does that slightly unnerving thing that a lot of comedy anime seems to do by getting really serious for the final episode, but that doesn't damage the series as a whole. If you've never discovered this one, and you like to grin stupidly for a few hours and be left with a warm glow, check Photon out.

If you can imagine Yuri on Ice! meets Holmes of Kyoto, then this is it. Slow paced but gripping. Boy-Love but not distasteful...
