In the present day, archaeologist and puzzle master Professor Layton and his young apprentice Luke Triton solve the mystery of the theft of Big Ben, deducing the culprit to be Layton's perennial adversary, Don Paolo. Following this resolution, the pair return to Layton's office, where they listen to "The Eternal Diva", a record by an old student of the professor's named Janice Quatlane, prompting them to recall one of their earliest adventures together from three years ago...

OK, when i first heard about it i was like "WTH?" but i found this to be a great movie. There is are puzzles in the movie (like you'd expect), some are pretty trippy, even people viewing it can sorta understand what the answers are but hey the plot still is engaging and adventurous.
the dialogue is good and self-explanatory, what you can expect from any japanese anime i suppose.
the animation is styled the same as the game so expect that sort of character designs but the animation sequences are smooth, fluent and impressive as a whole, so no problems there.
I recommend this movie to Conan: Case Closed lovers and Layton fans but also to those who love a good ost; the soundtrack is amazing.
must say i saw ideas from howl's moving castle and pokemon movies 2000 and temple of the sea in it but they all came together.
ALL IN ALL THIS IS AN AMAZING MOVIE THAT YOU WON'T REGRET WATCHING!!!
