The series revolves around three teams consisting of a weapon meister and (at least one) human weapon. Trying to make the latter a "Death Scythe" and thus fit for use by the academy's headmaster, Shinigami (better known as Death God), they must collect the souls of 99 evil humans and one witch, in that order; otherwise, they will have to restart all over again |

The intro of the first episode had me hooked.
The animation style, the characters and the art style. Everything was great. The high quality of the all these aspects stays throughout the anime, unlike some other animes where there is a noticeable difference and quality drop.
Sadly, there was only planned 51 episodes, which diverges from the manga story (which I recommend), however, as a standalone anime in itself, this is definitely something I would watch more than once.
The characters and development are great, the jokes are great, the fanservice is done in a jokingly way that makes it funny and fun.
I have yet to find another anime that I personnaly would class as in the same style or feel as this. To me, Soul Eater is unique in it's own way, and definitely something that should be seen.

If you can imagine Yuri on Ice! meets Holmes of Kyoto, then this is it. Slow paced but gripping. Boy-Love but not distasteful...
