Ok, let me say this right off the bat: This is a romance between two men (effeminate yes, but they're still male)
So this is for any open minded individual, first and foremost. Secondly: This is quite an old show with very dated character designs. It comes from a time period when women were still getting used to the idea of romanitically portraying men. So those who prefer newer animation should probably take that into consideration.
This ground breaking anime was the first to portray male homosexuality in a significant manner, revolving around two very different young men. They both face discrimination, racism and prejudice; topics that had been touched very lightly and cautiously in anime at that point in time. The whole OVA was executed beautifully and poetically, and though the animation is old, it adds to the sad romantic atmosphere. I personally felt that the ending was confusing, but was not disapointed by it.
I also reccomend anyone who is interested in this story to read the manga, as it goes much deeper into the story of Serge and Gilbert; their relationship and the psychological aspect of the story. This is just a taste of a much larger world.
I realize that at this time there is no file uploaded, but anyone who is curious should check this out (Aarinfantasy or Youtube would probably be your best bet)
