If you like Season1 you’ll definitely enjoy watching this sequel. Natsume is still struggling with his ability to see yokai while his love & hate relationship with the gluttonous and cute Nyako sensei still continues. Each episode is as inspiring and heartwarming as ever along with new and strange yokai like a mermaid, a dragon and even a powerful water god in the guise of a young boy. I was hoping to have some more information about Reiko, the book’s previous owner, but so far there were only glimpse and hints about her mysterious past. The episode that I really like was the meeting of sorcerers because we finally get to see Natsume explore more about his abilities and was even able to perform a successful exorcism together with Natori. Another interesting character is Taki, who happens to belong to long line of omniyojist and possible love interest, and there is also the threat of the Matoba clan. However, I was a bit disappointed that some of his close friends like Jun and Tanuma didn’t have any active participation considering that they we’re once involved in his cases. Aside from that 2nd season has been an interesting development and I’m excited to see what season 3 has to offer hopefully we will get to see more of Natsume’s hidden abilities and perhaps a potential enemy lurking in the shadow.

If you can imagine Yuri on Ice! meets Holmes of Kyoto, then this is it. Slow paced but gripping. Boy-Love but not distasteful...
