Every warrior's life is but a moment. And at least once in his life, that warrior wonders what it would be like to be the world's best. It is this great unknown, this passion for power that drives the Grappler. Each must choose to throw all else aside to acheive their goal, or forever shrink into the shadows, their potential unfulfilled.
Feeling his training to be the strongest fighter in the world is going nowhere, Baki Hanma quits his program believing that the only coach he needs is himself. Baki stumbles on his first step into this new world. Will he learn from his errors and achieve his potential? Or will he forever disappear among the milions of fighters who never realized that one must crawl before one may walk? |

Baki the grappler is an great fighting anime. The story is decent, the fighting scenes are amazing, altough I think season 2 is better.
I'll think Baki the grappler is an underrated anime, a must watch If you like fighting!

Great story were a Son tries to match up to his father known as a demon in the fighting world. The action and fight scenes keep you wanting to watch the next episode and can't get enough.

This anime may just be a fighting anime but it is a great anime nonetheless and one of my all-time favorites. There is some amazing depth to every aspect of the anime. It has action, comedy, drama, as well as some romance. You don't have to know anything about fighting and the author expects that from the viewer as it teachers you throughout the anime about the basics as the character grows and learns them himself. Some of the dialogue can falter her and in other places but it shouldn't stop you from enjoying this anime.

The animation is solid. And I found it highly entertaining and found myself watching 4 episodes at a time easily. Some of the comedy is a bit perverted but that should be expected of these types of characters and it just adds to the depth of the characters.
If you decide to watch this, I would recommend looking for the other half of the anime under "Grappler Baki" here. Or in other places known as "Baki the Grappler 2" or "Grappler Baki 2". ( show less)
