Summary: The setting for Diebuster takes place following the events of the series Gunbuster. Mankind's existence is threatened by large monsters that navigate deep space and view humans as a plague that infests the cosmos. Nono, a country girl that dreams of becoming a space pilot, has a serendipitous encounter with a teenager that is part of an elite faction of pilots known as Topless. Driven by Nono's admiration for her new friend and other idols, she struggles to find her place and help protect humanity from the wrath of the space monsters.
