Umisho
Creator: Mitsuru Hattori
Genres: Comedy, Romance, Tournament
Age Group: Mature (May contain sex, drugs, and extreme graphic violence)
Vintage: July 3, 2007
Status: Completed
Summary: Kaname Okimura, a student of Prefectoral Umineko Shougyou High ("Umisho" for short), joined the school's swimming club in order to learn how to swim, but the club is filled with weirdos, let alone teaches him swimming. Then, a sunny, happy-go-lucky girl named Amuro Ninagawa who was transferred from Okinawa joined the club. Her extraordinary underwater speed and unorthodox swimming style (plus her personal habit of nude swimming—a powerful magnet to teenage boys) surprised every club member, especially Okimura, because she reminds him of a mermaid-like creature he saw only once in his early childhood.

This is an interesting anime about a small swim team trying to win Nationals for their school. Most of the episodes are comedic side stories leading up to the different meets and tournament, but does provide great entertainment. Though this anime may leave you disappointed, because it ends on cliffhanger. The anime ended before the manga (which i plan to read) so to me this series was rushed and just ends at the best part. Besides that small defect its pretty good for its age and i recommend it. Ecchi though should be an added genre to this anime.

If you can imagine Yuri on Ice! meets Holmes of Kyoto, then this is it. Slow paced but gripping. Boy-Love but not distasteful...
