| Summary: |
Tsubaki is a girl who loves making her younger sister's hair pretty every morning, but she doesn't think that kind of style suits herself! The day of her High School Beginning Ceremony, after she failed in being the top student (who usually makes the ceremony speech), she finds herself sitting next to the actual top student of the first years, the worst, rudest guy ever, Kyouta. She ends up cutting his hair on purpose because of the awful things he says to her. Kyouta demands that Tsubaki pays him back with her body, but Tsubaki fixes his hair instead--making it even shorter!
After that, Kyouta unexpectedly kisses Tsubaki and swears that he'll take away all her firsts. |

These OVAs are terrible! But don't let that scare you off

This OVA was made specifically for the manga - and as I understand it Kyou, Koi wo Hajimemasu is a rather popular manga back in Japan, although it will be serialized in a live action series (as an otaku I think that's quite a waste). Read the manga though, it plays around pretty well with the modern day romance between two teenagers both having their own versions of "a first time". Love becomes a combo of a bitter sweet romance and for once you see some actual passion along with the fights that happen in this manga. This slice of life drama deals with alot of issues ranging from sex to cosplay to simply loving you best friend and worst enemy just as they are (read the synopsis and you will understand what I mean) a definite must see although I would suggest that you stay away from the OVAs they spoil the manga entirely. The 5-star rating is actually for the manga itself. it's right up the alley of Maid-sama, ToraDora, and We were there. Oh and one more thing, the manga (as well as these OVAs) are pretty steamy so if you don't wanna watch it JUST CLOSE YOUR EYES. HAHA Kidding.
