While I listened to the amazing work of the songs first, and agree that the animation was not the greatest, I think the story was still captured very well. It explained some of the points of the story that I was missing from the unfinished manga and the songs (which were kind of missing pieces of the story). I think this was an acceptable addition to the Kagerou Project series as a whole.
For me, Mekakucity Actors is a good anime. Because finally this project become an anime, the seiyuu also good. And Jin managed to put the insert songs with different singers. The opening and the ending also good.

I think this anime is very good. But, maybe I don't really like the animation. But, sugoii. I like MekakushiDan!
It's very confusing. Now people might say "it'll make sense soon", but on the negative side, the producers aren't doing a good job at trying to make it comprehensible. It's a pure mess, with horrid editing which will frustrate you more than entertain you.

Being a fan of the original Vocaloid song series which the anime was based on, the Kagerou Project composed mostly by Jin, I had high hopes for this anime, much like other fans of the songs. However, based on the first episode, it was already a let down.
The animations seemed messy and unorganized, even the PVs of the songs were animated better, and they were each made by normally one person. The story would have been already confusing if it hadn't been for the background knowledge from the songs. However, the voice acting was better than average, (read more)

I am only going to keep up with this anime due to falling in love with the Vocaloid songs, but if you're expecting a top-notch anime as good as the songs, you'll be thoroughly disappointed so far.
