The story is not really a new things that you also can find in another drama another anime. But indeed, i was not feel bored even a little everytime i watch it.
Simple dialogue is also another thing that usual but i found it interesting in it.
the animation not all of characters well animated the detail, but suprisedly this is one point of the deep character is.
Entertainment, like I said....i really feel it like brown sugar in my coffee, gives me a different taste with just ordinary sugar.
This anime is truly unique. It would be enjoyable to watch even for people who don't like anime at all, it's a very mature work.
Characters are deep. They have no trace of Mary-Sue in them. You feel for them throughout the whole series, but in the same time when they do something bad - then it's really something unsightly, and while viewers surely forgive them for that, authors of MtH don't try to sugar the pill and justify their deeds.
Story is great, plot is intense with action, drama and humor. The beginning is captivating, the end is awesome. (read more)

Dialogue is realistic and adult, just perfect in my opinion.
Animation is splendid. Not a single shot made slaking.
Music is wonderfully selected and is on spot bringing just the right mood. Opening is very original, both musically and visually, ending - just beautiful.
Entertainment - 5. This anime is anything but boring.
Rating - MtH is for smart teenagers and adults. Not only because of violence and sex themes, but also because I doubt that younger audience will appreciate it as much as it deserves. Women should especially enjoy series as the main character is strong woman who still possesses all weak points of females, such as stupidity in love.
Really, to describe this series is too hard for not English speaker, as I've run out of synonyms for "brilliant" pretty early XD (show less)
I started watching this and got hooked. The story is really goood the action is real cool. This was the first anime i saw with a girl being the main character it was suprisingly good. I say watch it if you want to kill some time its not to long.
This happens to be the only anime I know of that takes place in Mexico, great choice as it's a dramatic struggle in reality between criminals and poverty. From start to finish is unpredictable, it kept me extremely glued to see the end and I definitely wasn't disappointed for one moment with the entire plot of gun slinging action, cop chasing, and nut cracking. The touching part of this story for me is the bond between the mother and her child in a struggle to find the father and of course, learn to get along, and survive. The main character (read more)

The main character has a deep deep past with gangs that she has to deal with as well as the unknown man behind the curtains pulling strings that tug her along the plot. It's heavy on realism, it's hot, classy, stylish, multicultural, full of life, and emotion. Definitely reminded me of Cowboy Bebop and Samurai Champloo in it's own way. The story is good, but not excellent. It could have done a handful of things instead of finish in a heartbeat. (show less)
Edgy, fun, and real. Like many of Manglobe's works i.e. samurai champloo, dialog and character development are pitch perfect and are the many things missing in anime these days. If you are looking for something unseen, fresh, slick, groovy, multicultural my number is...... For those who have seen everything. Watch this and watch it again.
P.S. Best opening ever!

Starts heavy on the action, drifts into heavy on the drama.
The first episode was absolutely enjoyable. Lots of action, comedy and drama. The proceeding episodes are quite a bit lighter on the action, but the characters and dialogue really shine through during these parts. Definately one of the best anime series I've watched in a very long time.
