Summary: One day, Ikuto has a fight with his father and as a result runs away from home in the heat of the moment. Everything was going well until he boarded a ship, but then he carelessly fell overboard. After encountering the most serious raging storm in a hundred years, and spending many days adrift, he arrives here, at "Airantou". However, this island is a little weird...because, this Airantou is an island comprising solely of girls. An (extremely enviable) destiny awaits Ikuto.

I realize the nose-bleed is sort of the universal anime indication that a guy has just had a massive reaction to seeing the female body but surely no one could lose this much blood and live! The protagonist, Ikuto, has to lose about 1-2 gallons of blood each episode! haha.

I've had Nagasarete Airantou on my watchlist now for some time and finally got around to viewing the series. From a purely entertainment standpoint it did not disappoint! Every episode is just chock-full of nose-bleed induced comedy and truly funny situations. I really enjoyed the comedy of this series!

Granted, this anime falls into the 'semi-harem' category so expect to see lots of girls fighting over the same guy. I say 'semi-harem' because from a romance perspective there's really not much to see here folks. Yes, Ikuto is a guy, but throughout most of the series he's more interested in getting off this crazy island than he is in forming a relationship with any of the female inhabitants. It did pick up a little toward the end but don't expect to watch this for the romance or you may be disappointed.

Technically, the animation is pretty standard fair and uses very bright colours, nothing too standoutish. The BGM was very nice and the OP and ED were catchy although not 'must-haves' for my anime song collection.

Overall, Nagasarete Airantou is a fun-filled island romp with a nose-bleeding protagonist who must come to terms with what is really important in life. Oh, and don't tell him anything is 'absolutely impossible'!! Nagasarete Airantou is recommended viewing!
