Summary:
The story explains the day-to-day of a college freshman just starting a new life in the School of Literature Department of Tama University. While he grew up with his sister, he left and lived by himself when she got married with a man who had two daughters from previous marriages. He tried to distance himself from that family and so he moved out to live on his own. About 3 years later he was asked by his sister to visit and babysit the girls which suddenly turned his life upside down when the girls' parents went missing. He now has to live with the three daughters of his sister; with which two (from a previous marriage) are not related by blood: a tsundere (14 years), a little demon (10 years) and a small girl (3 years). In a six tatami mat size room.
To be honest, I stumbled across this anime by accident. I wasn't specifically looking for it, in fact, I never knew it even existed. However, I did (and still do) read the manga from which it is based. Had I not read the manga, I might have a different opinion about it. Therefore, I will try to "review" this anime in two ways - one in comparison to the manga, the other not.
Firstly, in comparison to the manga, this anime is by all means utterly horrible. It does not do the manga any justice. It is so far off track, that I will go as far as to (read more)

Firstly, in comparison to the manga, this anime is by all means utterly horrible. It does not do the manga any justice. It is so far off track, that I will go as far as to say that the only real similarities to the manga are the characters, and the reason for the main character to "adopt" the three girls (his nieces). Other than that, nearly everything is different.
The manga IS restricted to 18 and older. It is an adult comedy, with a focus on ecchi humor. Nudity and foul language (and sometimes, violence) is very common, yet it is done very well. In fact, the manga is one of my favorite on-going manga's. It's hilarious, and highly entertaining to read. (As well as, as I have mentioned, a comedy aimed for adults!) The anime is in every way, a conversion of what is brilliant, into a stupid, fit-for-all-ages feel good comedy/drama.
Now, if you haven't read the manga then perhaps this anime may seem decent. The story which the anime follows is solid enough for it to work. (Even though, as I said, it doesn't actually follow the manga.) The animation quality, as well as the quality of the drawing is reasonably good as well. However, the largest issues for me was the voice acting and the music. It's cringe worthy, at best. Especially the voice acting. (Japanese, of course.) Also, the ridiculously over used scenes where a girl falls, gets embarrassed, and then screams. Or gets seen changing, get embarrassed, then screams. I call them the "forced embarrassment and cheap attempt at humor" scenes. They are FUCKING RIDICULOUSLY over used in this anime. I would say that the anime is very "skimmable" (when you skim through an episode to see the gist of what's going on instead of watching it.)
My recommendation is the following.
If the summary of the anime interests you, DO NOT WATCH THIS ANIME AT ALL!
Instead, read the manga. It is far more entertaining, much funnier, more mature, makes more sense, the story is better, you don't have to hear the shit voices of some of the characters, and doesn't end after 12 dreary, very "skimmable", uninteresting, and annoying episodes. (show less)
Maybe I came into this series with my expectations set a little too high. After reading the synopsis I guess I was hoping for something along the lines of Usagi Drop which I enjoyed very much... what I got was, not that.
Don't get me wrong, this was a good series in its own right. The animation is top-notch, the music is great - I even downloaded the ED by Yui Horie. It definitely has it's funny moments...
But the story itself was just too shallow. Yes, it's moe... Kawaii... all that. But the raw emotion of losing your parents, having (read more)

But the story itself was just too shallow. Yes, it's moe... Kawaii... all that. But the raw emotion of losing your parents, having to take in kids barely related to you, that's what was missing. And to be honest, considering the ages of the girls involved, some of the situations and sexual innuendo had me feeling a bit uncomfortable at times. I wasn't sure if I should be laughing or cringing.
I think if there's a second season I will watch it just to see if there's a continuation of some of the story threads that didn't feel wrapped up but this was not a must watch series for me. (show less)
I found papa no iutoko wo kikinasai to be an amazing and compelling amine, the main character is a hard working, strong willed individual who gets put in a position to take care of his 3 younger nieces. His personality attracts alot of side characters from his club as school, the "Sightseeing club" and each side character plays an important role in shaping the main characters in the anime. It's very touching in that the 4 of them are living together making ends meet and doing what has to be done even in the toughest situations, everything from growing (read more)

I wouldn't say its a tear jerker but it is masterfully made and I truly look forward to a second season which could or could not happen due to the ending.

as tittle said, its about a boy colledge boy tryin his best to raise 3 younger girls (his nieces), just as his sister did for him when their parents gone.
so far the mixing of the sadness, comedy, romance and a bit of ecchi have amazed me.
in conclude, its worth of a watch
