Summary:
Himura Kenshin is a vagabond with a dark past and sunny disposition. Not a ronin but a rurouni, he was never a samurai, but an assassin of utmost skill in the Meiji restoration, who in the turning point of the war simply walked away. His travels lead him to Tokyo in the 11th year of the Meiji era, where he befriends a female Kendo master, a former thief, a brawler and a doctor all with their own secrets. Together they fight off the enemies surfacing from the dark past that Kenshin cannot escape.
You're gonna love this, due to it's romantic, and humorous character!!!:D This anime has really EVERYTHING, Drama, Comedy, Action, Romance, Historical details and an awesome plot ,based on some historical facts of the Meiji Era and the late Tokugawa period. Even though all anime series have positive and negative points, i can hardly find any negative points in Rurouni Kenshin. Seriously! If i had to mention one negative trait of it, i'd say the cruelty and the violence of the villains , Kenshin's opponents. This is a common thing between the series and Nobohiro Watsuki's manga. Another weak point of it, is the fact that the TV series creators didn't follow Watsuki's scenario till the end and they left Rurouni Kenshin unfinished. In my opinion, this was a serious mistake, cause people who haven't read the manga can't understand the reason why kenshin stoped being a hitokiri ,and furthermore they won't enjoy the really happy ending of the series and Kenshin's ultimate fight with Enishi.
As for the countless positive points of the series, i have to mention some of them:
-Very clever and funny dialogues, which never become tiring
-A complete character development, which goes on as the story progresses
-Even the bad guys are sympathetic , cause Watsuki shows their emotional side and describes well their past
-The plot is so interesting and the success of it is that it unfolds gradually
-Each character has it's uniqueness, their Special attributes, something not all anime characters have( i've seen animes in which most of the heroes have some common attributes )
-The character design is very good and the music fits well in the anime
-This anime has some deep meanings
Nowadays, it's a classic anime and also one of a kind. So, anime fans, you have to watch this anyway:)
