After a cease-fire during a long war. A second-class Bugler soldier, Kanata Sorami, is reasigned to her new outpost to a stronghold Fortress in the little city of Seize, where other female soldiers reside to serve in a multi purpose task, 1st: maintain the fortress, 2nd: contribute to the traditions of the city since all are young females and the folklore tales that the young maidens keept a demon under control, and 3rd: also to be prepared in case of a non probable attack due to the isolation of the city.

I wish to have more anime like this... Much more interesting with the story line magical at the same time realistic beautiful friendship and bonds more than family. Togetherness and working together. Understanding of life and connection of one another

Just got done watching this series and I only have 2 words to describe it, "simply beautiful."
The story itself is really good. All the characters get really well developed throughout the show and by the end you just love them all ha! The mood changes in Sora no woto are perfect, starting off light and funny, then moving toward the more serious as the series nears the end. Although the only thing that I didnt like is that some elements of the didnt get fully explained. There is a 13th episode but its more like an ova and doesnt really deal with (read more)

The animation in Sora no Woto is absolutely stunning, by far the best I have seen. The background, lighting, and character designs are simply breath taking. Its just pure enjoyment for the eyes! It definitely has a more realistic drawing style to it. So the characters dont make crazy faces or doing anything like that. Which really helps to set the mood of the story. (show less)

One site said there were 14, another 13... this particular link has 12... but if you type "Sora No Oto" you'll get what appears to be a dual making of this series... and that link has the 13th episode! I'm assuming there are 13 episodes, 1-7, 7.5 (which is only available on dvd, but I guess its included as 8 here) then 9-13.

All those breathes you've taken in by now are wasted if you haven't seen this Anime yet!It's Really beautiful.Story,Animating,Directing,musical works and all other things are all at the top level in this Anime."On a whole another level" I might say.Just watch it.You'll see.And to talk about te wrld it has created,it's just wat expected of anime to be.great!impressive!beautiful!
