Summary:
Soul Eater Not! is a side-story to the main series, focusing on a freshman halberd named Tsugumi Harudori, who befriends two other meisters, Meme Tatane and Anya Hepburn. All three take part in the NOT (Normally Overcome Target) class at DWMA and learn to control their powers in order to overcome their difficulties to have a normal life, as opposed to the battle-oriented EAT (Especially Advanced Talent) class taken by Maka, Soul, and their companions.
This isn't your average Soul Eater obviously, and I know that a lot of people might expect this to be like the original Soul Eater. When I first saw the Manga, I was like "Oh nice! Another Soul Eater Series!", but then at that time, the original Soul Eater was still ongoing, so then I thought that this was going to be Spinoff series with less-action, and I was right.
This anime is pretty nice, and fun. Obviously no serious plot or whatsoever, so for those who are expecting this anime to turn out to be like Soul Eater, then let me warn you that (read more)

This anime is pretty nice, and fun. Obviously no serious plot or whatsoever, so for those who are expecting this anime to turn out to be like Soul Eater, then let me warn you that this isn't anything like that. While Soul Eater focuses on the Action genre, this is more of a Slice of Life genre. And I can't compare those 2 because one does not simply compare 2 Animes with a different genre. And even the description (for the manga) said that this series is more of how 3 best friends get along their daily lives.
And for the returning Soul Eater fans, if you don't mind some slice of life anime, this is for you. There are some returning characters that'll make you feel nostalgic, and even get to know more about Kim, Jacqueline, Liz, Patty, and Ox.
I'd like to say that this anime is a refreshing one.
But I'd like to warn some others, despite the name has "Soul Eater" in it, it barely have any action in this. So for those who expect more action stuff like Soul Eater, don't set your expectations high. (show less)
I found this fun and it just reminded me so much of Soul Eater and dont get me wrong but there are some little details that are off but there are wonderful characters and and its just a very fun little story

Like other anime series. You can't compare any to Soul Eater, unless It's Soul Eater. And this new series is such a disappointment. It lacks the main story and for some reason it has gone down the "Slice of Life" path which is not like the series at all. The first Series was Serious and funny from the first episode to the 50th Episode. Where this story has no plot, no story on which it follows, and when you think there's going to be a final story in the series that will lead into a serious and emotion filled episode. It falls back into the Slice (read more)

Don't get me wrong, I like Soul Eater, And i definitely like the characters in this series, but we'll just have to stay tuned and see where it takes us. (show less)
I really enjoyed the first series, when I picked up watching this sequel. I was pleasantly surprised at how the old characters are actually around although they're not the focus point of the new release, they do pop up every now and then and at the right moments :) I'm really enjoying it a lot. It's as good if not better than the original release. I know it's going to get even better as the original picked up slow at first but improves steadily as the anime progresses. Enjoy ^_^
this anime is amazing still nothing compared to the original soul eater but still very entertaining

I love this anime. Since I loved 'Soul eater' I obviously love this, like seeing everyone again hahaha. little bit confused in the beginning, cause of little info and it's not really entertaining that much yet, I want to see ACTION!!! But only 2 episodes out yet, so obvious. Highly recommend this anime
