Summary:
Ten year old Chihiro and her parents are moving to a new town and on a car ride they stop at a mysterious forest tunnel. Passing through it they come upon what looks like an abandoned theme park. Wandering off while her parents eat from food they find at a stall, Chihiro meets a called Haku, who warns her to leave. On returning she finds that her parents have turned into pigs and that the park and surroundings are filled with spirits. Aided by Haku, who seems to be 'good' but is a malevolent witch's henchman, the maid Rin, and the boilerman Kamiji, Chihiro finds her in a struggle to survive, save her parents, and return to the human world. This is a movie filled with romance, drama, magic, and at times, horror.

This was my first anime movie (this introduced me to anime). It has a very interesting plot, how it has spirits and everything. If you like Howl's moving castle you might like this since it's a bit similar, I can watch this movie over and over again;)
I highly recommend this if you have a sudden urge to watch a movie or anytime you want:)
This movie is beautiful, nothing more, nothing less. Beautiful. With what begins with a commonly used setting, ends with a truly beautiful place that makes gives imagination a new whole difinition. If you ever imagined a place where pigs fly, where reality meets imagination, where afterlife meets life, you've probably been Spirited away.

To be honest I use this film as a lullaby to put me to sleep (>_<)
This movie is the best thing since sliced bread. I loved the graphics, the plot and storyline but more importantly I loved the character development and the interlinking destinies of each character (the old Hag Witch included). It ends with alot of promise - insinuating that there is always something to look forward to if you do right by others as well as yourself. Of course it does help the humour of the film that the male protagonist is somewhat of a stiff but hey - that's what chihiro is there for. Haku is the epitome of a cold personality but (read more)

Haku is the epitome of a cold personality but strangely enough he feels oddly connected to chihiro. this just goes to show that no matter how old the memories, they never truly die. an extraordinary film - a must watch for those who enjoy the supernatural and anything else related to yokai :) (show less)
A trip into another world, Spirited Away is an unusual awe-inspiring movie filled with plenty of interesting and enjoyable characters. It starts out with a girl and her two parents on a trip, for one reason or another they leave their car and enter a village. This village is filled with freshly made food and snacks but there is one thing wrong: there are no people in the village. From there the girl's world turns upside down as she embarks on an adventure into the world of monsters, ghosts and spiritual beings. As she encounters and deals with all (read more)

Take this movie as an experiance different to common anime, Spirited Away is as strange as it is entertaining and that is why it is worth watching. It ranks an awesome on the bizarre scale and delivers a unique story that is hardly found anymore. (show less)

I can't Express my feeling in my word about the movie...No other people in this world who can't dislike this movie..Everyone can watch it !!No need to Age rating..
This is one of those films that you could show to people and change their opinion of anime. Well written, voiced and animated, and it won a well deserved Oscar. After seeing it, I bought the DVD for my daughter, who was 6 at the time and we both still love to watch it 3 years later.
In summary, I like the story, I like the character, I like the look and I love this movie!
