| Summary: |
Ken Kaneki is a bookworm college student who meets a girl names Rize at a cafe he frequents. They're the same age and have the same interests, so they quickly become close. Little does Kaneki know that Rize is a ghoul - a kind of monster that lives by hunting and devouring human flesh. When part of her special organ - "the red child" - is transplanted into Kaneki, he becomes a ghoul himself, trapped in a warped world where humans are not the top of the food chain. |

After watching the first four episodes I decided to share my opinion on this anime at where it is at its current point. First off the animation is extremely good and I only say this if you watch the high quality HD episode as the artwork is only given its justice in that light. To give you a better picture, yes the character drawing are much like any other modern well drawn anime but the detail in some of the scenery and backdrops in a lot of areas are very nice and remind me of some quality work of some video games (not your BF, Crysis, Killzones). Oh and blood is abundant.
Second the entertainment value is there if you have taken the time to watch attack on titan series or read the manga then the first episodes grabs a page from that series and it is a much welcomed one to say the least, but the story itself is much different. I can't stress enough it is MUCH different from attack on titan when it comes to the story as I do not want you to look the other way on this anime if you was not a fan of attack on titan I was merely speaking on one (singular) show concept that they share.
With that being said the dialogue and story are above average as the show is still it its early stages I can't say if this will pan out to just be average or a master piece. The thought behind it to say is not as deep as say in death note but the pace and blending of things seems to be more on the level of Guilty Crown.

If you can imagine Yuri on Ice! meets Holmes of Kyoto, then this is it. Slow paced but gripping. Boy-Love but not distasteful...
