Summary:
Ken Kaneki is a bookworm college student who meets a girl names Rize at a cafe he frequents. They're the same age and have the same interests, so they quickly become close. Little does Kaneki know that Rize is a ghoul - a kind of monster that lives by hunting and devouring human flesh. When part of her special organ - "the red child" - is transplanted into Kaneki, he becomes a ghoul himself, trapped in a warped world where humans are not the top of the food chain.

When I watched the first I thought this will be just another dark fantasy horrod anime about vampires. So, in the end I was wrong with Tokyo Ghoul, it is more than that. It's not that great either. Story is unfinished, missing a lot of it, characters are poorly developed (like main antagonist/protogonist Amon) and some of them we meet et the end (Banjou, Suzuya Juuzou, Kirishima Ayato). I have the immpresion how the basic idea of the story was to show arise of the leading character Kaneki - he overpassed his philosophy (conditioned by the mother) about victims and villians - choosen to be hurt rather than to hurt others. The last episode was really intense, action with bloody, gore scenes was superb, but than it seems there is a big hole, we have not seen what is happend with other characters, story looks uncomplete! Animation of ambient and figts was beautifu, but I don't like how characters were designed. Tokyo Ghoul despite all the flaws remains my favourite anime serise about vampires although it is not about these supernatural creatures! :)
