Even though Gennosuke and Oboro are from rival ninja villages, they are secretly in love. At an annual conference with the Lord, it is dictated that a competition--a fight to the death--will take place between the five best shinobi from each village. I've watched it from the CD which I borrowed from my friend.
It's a good to watch. Though the so 'romantic-like' exposure, it's not really a romance movie (maybe a bit, a sad love story). Not to mention it's also an action and historic movie. By the name apply, Shinobi, it's a ninja-like story (ninja's pride, and stuff..)
If you like some sad love story with a touch of thrills and action, you should watch this.

As if it was not bad enough to break down into tears while watching the anime, the live-action adaptation makes the tragedy more real and surreal at the same time. It is a heartbreakingly beautiful film and one of the best live-action films I have seen in a while.

If you can imagine Yuri on Ice! meets Holmes of Kyoto, then this is it. Slow paced but gripping. Boy-Love but not distasteful...
